New Sentence Equivalence questions to test your ability to infer, how the sentence should be completed.
So what really will help you is reading articles from www.nytimes.com, www.theatlantic.com, www.newyorker.com to improve analytical and critical thinking. As you start learning word list you will notice how frequently high frequency GRE word shows up in their articles.
New Text Completion question to test your ability to interpret and reason by omitting words from short passages.
There are more Reading Comprehensions questions on the test. They also introduced new types of questions in RC such as: selecting multiple correct answer or highlighting a part of passage to answer a particular question.
Sentence Completion:
- Simple blank questions with 1 blank and 5 choices with one correct answer.
- Text completion questions with 2 blank and 6 choices.(* 3 choices for each).
- Text completion questions with 3 blank and 9 choices.(* 3 choices for each).
- Sentence Completion:Sentence equivalence questions with 1 blank and 6 choices having 2 correct choices.Look for pairs of synonyms here.
2. Reading
Comprehensions:
- Simple RC questions with 5 choices with one correct answer.
- More than one correct answer with 3 choices.
- Select a sentence with no choice,candidate need to click on relevant sentence from passage.
- Critical Reasoning questions testing critical thinking skills of candidate.

Analytical Writing:
- You need to write two essays “Issue essay” and “Argument essay”.
- No choices are provided.
- Candidate is tested for critical thinking and analytical writing skills.
- Issue essay - evaluate the issue, consider its complexities and develop an argument with reasons and examples to support your views.
- Argument essay - consider the logical soundness of the argument rather than agree or disagree with the position it presents.
- No specific content knowledge is tested .
